This time last year, Sonia & Divyan had me photograph their 2-day wedding in Muskoka at the JW Marriott in Muskoka. Sonia & Divyan had a beautiful Hindu Ceremony on a sunny Saturday afternoon, much like it is today; I find myself gravitating towards the Hindu ceremonies and truly resonate with the symbolism and rituals, (I think my 3 month stay in India allowed me to absorb in the spirit of a culture that I wouldn’t have otherwise got to know if I was only there for a couple weeks); from the Barat, Ganesh Pooja, the Gath Bandhan, Mangal Fera, to the Saptapadi, I loved being able to document it all.
That evening, Divyan and Sonia had a very chill BBQ hangout; they wore their super cute matching converse sneakers that Divyan bought as a surprise, ate super yummy food while Gareth Bush played some acoustic songs in the background, and danced among sparklers at sundown.
The day after was their reception day, and Paras Events Decor definitely brought the reception dreams into reality! The evening was filled with SO much love from all their friends and family; I particularly remember how sweet Sonia’s dad Pramod was during his speech as he sang to her, heart wide open, into the mic. Sonia also had her friends perform a traditional dance routine during dinner which was full of energy! That energy continued into the night as the DJ truly gave the crowd a reason to dance. The whole weekend was unforgettable, and truly magical for myself, S&D + all their family & friends.
