If you are looking for a magical place to get eloped in Northern Ontario with your favorite humans, you MUST look in Bartlett Lodge in Algonquin Park. I love places where you can spend the whole day and evening in + sleep overnight. Barlett Lodge is on an Island on Cache Lake in Algonquin, so you’ll have to board the “freighter canoe” that will be sent to get you from the mainland. They have cabins and platform tents to sleep in + their restaurant/catering is delicious! (Elin is vegan and they definitely catered to her wonderfully). Truly, this is one of my favorite venues up north.
A bit about these lovers: Curtis, from Huntsville Ontario fell in love with Elin, from Sweden online. After some persuasion, Elin came to live with Curtis in Huntsville, and got to know the land and her surroundings pretty well. It’s no surprise these two kind introverted souls wanted to elope somewhere in nature. Their ceremony took place on the dock admist the setting sun, with a few of their favorite people. The intimacy of this day was so special and I loved being able to witness the love and connection that took place in Algonquins wild.
If you’re thinking of eloping, I’d highly recommend Bartlett Lodge!
